In September 2015 we started with two online master programmes, which are new specialisations of existing on-campus Master programmes of Wageningen University. These online masters represent a completely new way of teaching. The two programmes are:
• Master specialisation Plant Breeding
• Master specialisation Nutritional Epidemiology and Public Health
Since the Master programmes are part-time programmes, you will be able to combine working with studying. The programmes run annually in fixed timeslots, giving you sufficient possibilities to organise your own time.
During the courses you will closely collaborate with lecturers, tutors and with your fellow online master students through the Wageningen University virtual learning platform through online group work, forum discussions or peer reviews. You can expect the programmes to be small scale, highly interactive and inspiring, with a high student-teacher ratio and active tutors.
The first two years are reserved for following different courses within the online learning environment. The study load during this time is approximately 20 hours per week. The course programmes also include 2 short stays of 2 to 6 weeks in Wageningen in order to take part in necessary lab-practicals at the impressive facilities of Wageningen University. The course work is followed by a tailor-made internship and Master thesis.
Depending on the effort and time you invest, the programme will take up to 4 years to complete. After successful completion of the programme, you will obtain a fully recognised Master of Science degree from Wageningen University.
